NPFL : Why Akwa United Lost To Nasarawa United - Boboye
By Sampson Adedeji
Following Akwa United 1-2 loss to Nasarawa United in the match day 10 of the Nigeria Professional Football League, head coach of Akwa United, Kennedy Boboye, has explained what led to the defeat, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The Promise Keepers are one of the most in-form team in the league having won back to back games before Sunday degree at Lafia City Stadium.
Goals from Adamu Hassan and Elvis Anakwe condemned the Uyo based team to a defeat despite Ndifreke Effiong reducing the scoreline.
Boboye while speaking after the game, said the players lost concentration towards the tail end of the match.
"We did well but we lost concentration towards the dying minute which led to the goal the opponent scored. As a striker you need to be at the right place at the right time to take your opportunity, I think he has been doing that in quite some games and he has been working for him.
"We have a game to play against Plateau United, we go back home and correct our mistakes .
"I definitely have to put the blame on the boys because they lost concentration toward the end of the game which is not suppose to be," he said.
